The Hebrew High Priestess Shaman:
The Path of Soul Memory
An exerpt from Dr. Asherah's new book.
The dance of thirsting for you, Oh Great Goddess, as you are the fruit of what is yearned for, and the water to quench the dryness, from which these syllables were created, We dance the same notes, and weave the melody, we stand in open circle and acknowledge the cyclical cycles of life, death, and rebirth, the light and dark, the sun and moon, summer and winter.
For we are your priestesses, those who do your work in the world, your highest embodiment. Those who serve as leaders in ritual and sacred devotion. Guiding community to their highest potential in ritual, healing, and transformation.
What is the role of a priestess and who may become one? How are they chosen? What are their duties. The priestess of the holy dances. She leads the rituals and ceremonies that hold the space for the cycles of life. In essence, the dance of life is the healing, transformative ritual, that allows for self-expression, connection, healing, joy peace, unity, community, and transformation.
We ask you lead and guide us through this journey, following the flow of the river, allowing it, You, to move in and through us. To softly touch your gentle skin, brazing and kissing with our feet, you mother earth, we caress you, we honor, and acknowledge your presence. We are eternally grateful for this dance and the breath within us. You within us. The fire that is in our bellies, and feet, the soul voice that yearns to pour forth. We know and feel our connection to you and to each other.
We move through the invocation and initiation of life passage through birthing, entering womanhood, wedding, cronehood, rites of release. We honor the memory of You, inside of us. Within and inside of the dance, within, and inside of our bodies. The re-building of memory, is reclaiming the amnesia, it is the re-building of memory structure, of safe space. It is the remembering and reclaiming of our divinity as women; Remembering and reclaiming our truth, beauty, bodies, inner knowing, our history, our reverence, our respect, and our power.
